A humanoid trading kicks with kung fu stars. Real robot, real jumps, and also a scripted movie. Here is what AgiBot's A3 really shows, and what it doesn't.

**What A3 is.** AgiBot unveiled the Expedition A3 in Shanghai in February 2026: 173 cm, 55 kg, 31 active joints (hands excluded). The company pitches it as a robot "born for the stage" for guiding, entertainment and commercial shows.

**The series.** The fights come from *Peerless Master*, AgiBot's own kung fu series, with martial-arts actors Fan Shaohuang and Zhang Lanxin.

- **What's real:** AgiBot's behind-the-scenes film shows wide on-set shots, with crew and crane in view, of the robot genuinely jumping and landing.
- **What AgiBot claims:** "real footage, no CGI, no AI", with the robot fighting through real-time perception and autonomous decisions. We can't independently verify how each move was triggered.
- **What's staged:** the scenes are scripted and rehearsed with stunt performers, then cut fast (about one second per shot by our count). Failed takes aren't disclosed. And a wireless remote is standard equipment on the A3, according to its own manual.

**Why it matters.** This is no lab prototype. Omdia counted 5,168 AgiBot humanoids shipped in 2025 and ranks AgiBot first worldwide; only Unitree, in its own prospectus, claims more (5,511). In March 2026 AgiBot says its 10,000th robot rolled off the line, and it was an A3.

So is this a breakthrough, or the best robot ad of the year? If it takes a script, a crane and stunt actors to look this good, what can it do on an ordinary Tuesday?
