China’s top 5 post 90s youngsters who shape robotics & embodied AI - here are their profiles
From left to right: 黄一 (Huang Yi) – born 2004, 杨丰瑜 (Yang Fengyu) – born 2000, 胡宇航 (Hu Yuhang) – born 1997, 姜哲源 (Jiang Zheyuan) – born 1998, 彭志辉 (Peng Zhihui) – born 1993

China’s humanoid and embodied-intelligence sector has exploded in the mid-2020s, fueled by capital, supply-chain strength, and a wave of exceptionally young founders. A recent industry ranking of the youngest entrepreneurs (ordered by birth year) spotlights a generation that is skipping traditional career paths and building full-stack robot companies while still in their early-to-mid 20s—or even younger.

Huang Yi (b. 2004) is the standout youngest CEO. While still an undergraduate at Harbin Institute of Technology, he and roommates built and fully open-sourced a bipedal robot (AlexBot) in a dorm for roughly $2,300. He graduated early in 2025, moved the team to Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Robot Valley, and founded RoboParty. The company pursues a radical full-stack open-source strategy for bipedal humanoids (ORIGIN / ROBOTO platforms), aiming to become the “embodied infrastructure” layer that model makers can build upon. It has raised multiple rounds totaling hundreds of millions of yuan (seed led by Matrix Partners and Xiaomi Strategic Investment; later rounds including exclusive Pre-A support from CATL / Ningde Times), with valuation reportedly rising more than 20× in under a year. Focus remains on R&D, developer ecosystem, and modular low-cost hardware rather than immediate mass consumer sales.

Yang Fengyu (b. 2000) paused his Yale Computer Science PhD (after a Michigan undergrad and DeepMind experience) to return to China and found UniX AI in Suzhou/Shanghai in 2024. The company emphasizes practical, mass-producible wheeled and bipedal humanoids (Wanda series, Panther, Martian) for homes, hotels, retail, and commercial service. Core tech includes the UniTouch vision-tactile multimodal model and efficient imitation-learning frameworks. UniX AI achieved monthly deliveries exceeding 100 units and holds significant orders; it has raised several hundred million to low billions of yuan across angel and subsequent rounds (investors include Zhongguancun Frontier Fund, Saina Capital, Chang’an Private Capital, CICC, and others). Chief Scientist is Shanghai Jiao Tong’s Wang Hesheng.

Hu Yuhang (b. 1997) earned his PhD at Columbia focusing on robot self-modeling and human-like interaction. He founded AheadForm (Shouxing Technology) in Shanghai in 2024 to build ultra-realistic, emotionally expressive humanoid faces and upper bodies (Elf/Origin series, mecha variants, custom “clone” faces). Products feature high-DoF faces, soft skin, eye contact, and an emotion foundation model (CharacterMind). The company has completed multiple rapid rounds (including A/A+ totaling hundreds of millions of yuan) with backers such as Shunwei Capital (Lei Jun), Huakong Fund, major internet firms, JD-related capital, China Merchants, and others. It targets companionship, education, medical, and entertainment use cases.

Jiang Zheyuan (b. 1998) left his Tsinghua Electronic Engineering PhD in 2023 to start Noetix Robotics (Songyan Power) in Beijing. The firm specializes in high-dynamic, affordable bipedal and wheeled humanoids (N-series “Xiaowantong,” Bumi/Xiaobumi priced under 10,000 yuan, E-series, Hobbs bionic heads). Achievements include continuous flips, strong marathon and sports results, CCTV Spring Festival Gala appearances, and education/commercial deployments. It has raised nearly 10–15 billion yuan across many rounds (investors include CATL-related capital, CICC, Fangguang, and others) and emphasizes cost-performance for consumer and campus markets.

Peng Zhihui (b. 1993, known online as “Zhihui Jun” / “Wild Iron Man”) is the most established of the group. A former Huawei “Genius Youth” famous for DIY robotics videos, he co-founded AgiBot (Zhiyuan Robotics) in 2023 with Deng Taihua (CEO). As President & CTO he drives the full-stack “body + AI” stack. AgiBot’s Expedition, Spirit, and X2 families have achieved industry-leading humanoid shipments (over 5,000 in 2025, 10,000+ by early 2026 per company statements), factory deployments, RaaS models, and a GO-1 embodied foundation model. Revenue exceeded 1 billion yuan in 2025. Backers include Hillhouse, Sequoia China, Tencent, BYD, JD, and others; valuation has reached well over 10 billion yuan.

These founders illustrate a broader shift: elite university talent (HIT, Tsinghua, Yale, Columbia, UESTC) is moving directly into entrepreneurship, capital is flooding the space at unprecedented speed, and Chinese supply chains enable rapid iteration from prototype to volume production.
