- Description: Waymo ~4,000 (reported) vs Cybercab 300+ (Tesla claim) — about 13× by our calc, not like-for-like. Waymo reports 500k+ paid rides/week; Tesla has not published a ride count. Factory capacity vs riders is the real fight.

**Waymo runs about 4,000 robotaxis. Tesla's Cybercab is at 300+ in Austin. Yet Musk says nobody can match Tesla's scale.**

**Waymo (reported / confirmed):** \~4,000 robotaxis across 15 US cities (**Reported**, TechCrunch Sep 24 2026). 500,000+ paid rides a week (**Confirmed**, Waymo Mar 2026; reiterated on Alphabet's Q1 call). Goal of 1M paid rides/week by end-2026 is a **company target** (Bloomberg Feb 2026). A Semafor/Reuters report (Oct 19 2026) says Waymo plans \~20,000 vehicles by end-2027; Waymo did not comment.

**Cybercab (claims + tracker):** Unsupervised rides in Austin from Sep 3 2026 (**Confirmed**, Tesla Q3 call Oct 21). Tesla's @robotaxi account claimed "300+ Cybercabs serving Austin, an 8× increase in 30 days" (Oct 10; **company claim**). A community tracker counted \~107 Cybercabs among 277 in-service Austin vehicles around Oct 14 (**Reported**). Tesla has not published a paid-ride count.

**The gap we show:** \~13× = 4,000 ÷ 300 (**our calculation**). These numbers are not like-for-like: Waymo's \~4,000 is the whole fleet; Cybercab 300+ counts Cybercabs only (Austin also runs Model Y robotaxis).

**Factory vs road:** Tesla's Q3 update states >125,000/yr installed Cybercab capacity in Texas (**Confirmed capacity, not output**). Waymo has the riders today; Tesla has the bigger factory on paper. 2027 decides.
